Anoka County AAA Bond Rating Reaffirmed

January 23, 2012

Standard & Poor’s, one of the nation’s top ratings agencies, has not only reaffirmed Anoka County’s AAA bond rating, but also elevated the county’s Financial Management Assessment from “good” to “strong,” the highest category available.

“The AAA rating and assessment upgrade acknowledges Anoka County’s fiscally responsible financial strategy and ultimately means savings for our citizens,” said Anoka County Board Chair Rhonda Sivarajah. “It allows Anoka County to obtain the most favorable interest rates on bonds when financing necessary projects, achieving significant savings for the county, and ultimately taxpayers.”

Anoka County first received the AAA designation in February 2009. Standard & Poor’s, headquartered in New York, is a global leader in credit ratings and credit risk analysis.
