-
- Meeting called to order: 8:15 a.m.
-
- Attendance: Roxanne Kapping, Brad Sanford, Brian Wentz, Tim
Rehbine, Mitch Rehbine, Jason Anderson, Mary Divine

Minutes: February minutes corrections: Brad Sanford’s email
is
Bradley.Sanford@usbank.com. Corrected minutes approved
unanimously.
-
- Organizational:
-
- Insurance: Jason Anderson passed out quotes from Nessar
Agency for insurance. Question arose around employee insurance. The
administrative position is as an independent contractor, so employee
insurance is not necessary. Cost for basic liability and two events
is $500/year. Questions to be answered:
-
·
Is $1 million liability for the board based on per
member or total board?
-
·
How much more to add additional events?
-
·
Does it cover events where non-chamber members attend?
- Jason Anderson will call the agent
with these questions.
-
- Motion made and seconded to move
forward with getting the insurance. Motion passed unanimously.
-
-
Website: Looks good. Corrections/additions can be sent
directly to Chris. It was noted that some members are not getting
emails or newsletters and the list of members needs to be complete.
-
-
Financial: It was questioned if the chamber is a 501C3.
Jason will check with TRW. Mitch Rehbine suggested moving some money
to a CD, and suggested some funds that pay higher interest. Brian
Wentz recommended that the money be put into a local bank. Roxanne
Kapping suggested some funds be kept liquid, not all in CDs. Jason
Anderson said it should be placed in funds that are FDIC insured.
Tim Rehbine suggested the money be broken up in CDs with different
maturity dates. Community National Bank sent a list of rates. The
decision was tabled and Bank of the West will bring additional
options and rates to the next meeting.
-
-
Communication/Advertising: All articles and pictures for the
newsletter are due Friday, March 11. Mary Divine will do Community
Corner and story/photo on Kennedy visit. Mitch Rehbine is doing
5-Star Financial. Brad Sanford is doing Arsenal Sand. Mary Divine
offered to do newsletter if Jeannie was no longer doing it, until
new administrative person hired. Jeannie will do this newsletter.
Mary Divine will call Chad Wagner to see if a Blue Heron insert will
be included.
-
- Jason received the list of businesses
in Anoka County the chamber purchased.
-
- Socials: Blue Heron Days: The softball tournament
will be held at the middle school. Business coupons to hand out to
teams to promote business after the games could be handed out. Brad
Sandford will take calls regarding teams.
-
- Jason Anderson stated that royalty budget was in the red. More
sponsors are needed for the event. The chamber has donated to other
festivals and it was discussed if the donation to Blue Heron Days
should go to getting the royalty budget paid. Motion made and
seconded to give $1,000 to the Blue Heron Committee for that
purpose. During discussion it was agreed that the net proceeds from
the softball tournament would go to the Blue Heron Committee and the
golf proceeds go to the chamber. Motion passed with Jason Anderson
abstaining.
-
- Upcoming events were discussed,
including a spring picnic, or a summer picnic that could include
water sports. No event was determined. Members also discussed
getting underway with the Ambassador program.
-

was making application for federal funds for the 35W bridge
reconstruction in Lino Lakes and asked if the chamber would send a
letter of support. Motion moved and seconded. Motion passed
unanimously.

programs that the chamber has contributed to in the past.
