Quad Area
Chamber of Commerce
Minutes
March
27, 2007
Call to order: 12 p.m.
Attendance:
Mady Reiter, Mitch Rehbine, Chad Forga, Kathy Kouba, Faamati Winey,
Leslie Weintz
Minutes:
Minutes from the 2/27/07 meeting were approved.
Organizational:
Approved the Centennial Little League donation of 500.00 that had been
requested.
Mitch wanted the meeting to focus on these three areas: review calendar,
newsletter, and interviews.
Newsletter—Mitch talked to Angela at the Quad Press and agreed to go
with the Quad for one year. This will be no additional costs to the
Chamber. The Chamber would send out a general letter and it would talk
about how you can advertise in the newsletter. There is a schedule that
would be required by the Quad for us to follow. They are also offering
the newsletter to be published bi-monthly at a low cost so Mitch thinks
that we should take advantage of that. Mady suggested that in December
we review the publications and review it every year. Then in January, a
decision can be made as to you gets the new contract. Mady made this
motion and Faamati made a second and all approved.
It was agreed to try the bi-monthly but not until June so all membership
lists can be updated. Members will need support this summer with all
the road construction so it will be great to have that in a couple of
newsletters
Administrative Assistant
Mitch had several résumé’s that the Board reviewed. Mitch will contact
the people to interview and Leslie will come in during the last five
minutes of the interview to get her opinion. A computer is also needed
to this person. The first thing this person will need to do is get the
membership lists up to date and send out new members welcome packets.
Also, need to know if they want a link on the Chamber website to their
website.
Calendar: Need to work on the master calendar and get some ideas and
events going. We need two events to put in the newsletter. One event
could be the end of June and it could be a picnic type networking event.
We also need to contact Stephanie at Blue Heron Days to get that going.
Ambassadors Club:
Mady has started meeting with businesses. The first two were in
Centerville, Eileen from the pet food store and Debbie from the flower
shop. Both are interested and will probably become members. The
ambassadors group meet and they are working on getting business lists
for each city and then cross check with our membership list to find out
who is not a member. At that point, the ambassadors will start going out
and meeting non-members in groups of two to introduce these businesses
to the Chamber. They will use the “business to business” motto. Business
cards and information cards are needed to go to these meetings. Leslie
will put the information cards together for us. Generic business cards
will be bought so each person can put their name and number on the
cards. Also, it was thought that it would be great to highlight all new
businesses, the month they join at the next breakfast meeting.
Member Benefits:
Networking/Socials: The next breakfast meeting is April 12th.
New Items:
Next meeting is April 24, 2007 at noon.
Meeting adjourned 1:35 p.m. |
