Attending: Mitch Rehbine, Mary Alice Divine, Kathy Kouba, Mady
Reiter, LaChelle Williams, Faamati Winey, Leslie Welnetz, Chad Forga
Chamber Admin: Anna Wicks
1.
The President, Mitch
Rehbine – called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
2.
Blue Heron Days
Presentation - Alyssa Stull with Blue Heron days presented the
financials for the Blue Heron Committee. Mady Reiter requested that she
be provided with a list of the sponsors. Mady Reiter also noted that the
softball tournament held during Blue Heron days was sponsored as a
separate entity. She asked that the financial information for that event
be included in the overall financial statements. It is currently
missing. The Quad Area Chamber of Commerce donated $2,000 to the
softball tournament and $8,000 to the Blue Heron event overall in 2006.
Mady Reiter poses the question, “should the Chamber participate in the
Blue Heron Days parade this year”? This question brings up the topic of
the Chamber banner and the possibility that it is missing. Alyssa Stull
discusses the fact that the Blue Heron Committee needs overall help –
specifically in the areas of the parade and fund raising. Mady Reiter
volunteers to have the Ambassadors, as they visit local businesses,
mention the needs of the Blue Heron Committee. The purpose of Alyssa’s
presentation to the committee is to determine what the Chamber is
thinking in terms of a donation for this year’s event. Mitch, on behalf
of the Quad Area, states that the Chamber does want to contribute but
will not be able to do so in the amount of $10,000 as it did in the
previous year. He is hopeful that the Chamber will be able to host
some fundraising events. A breakfast event will be held on May 3rd
in the community room at 7:00 a.m. for potential sponsors. Further
discussions of prior events determined that last years wrestling event
was not successful. There is a need for a family event to be held after
the parade. The Chamber may be interested in hosting a golf event. There
is a Target grant that is pending.

March 2007 meeting
minutes – Mady Reiter motions approval of those meeting minutes, Leslie
Welnetz seconds the motion and the meeting minutes are approved.
4.
Treasurers Report – The
Quad Area Chamber of Commerce file cabinet has almost completely been
reorganized and updated. The checking account balance is $11,000 we have
been saving not spending. We need an additional check signer (Leslie
Welnetz volunteers). In addition, we need a Treasurer and Vice
President. Mady Reiter makes a motion that Leslie Welnetz serves as the
Vice President and Kathy Kouba serve as the Treasurer. Chad Forga
seconds the motion. The Chambers admin will do the treasurers report,
and then forward it to Kathy Kouba for review and presentation to the
Board.
