Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
May 22, 2007 12:00 p.m.
Attending: Mitch Rehbine, Mary Alice Divine, Kathy Kouba,
LaChelle Williams, Faamati Winey, Leslie Welnetz, Chad Miller

1.
The President, Mitch
Rehbine – called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
2.
Faamati Winey will
present the Forest Lake scholarship check to the winner at their evening
assembly.
3.
April 2007 meeting
minutes – LaChelle Williams motions approval of those meeting minutes,
Leslie Welnetz seconds the motion and the meeting minutes are approved.
4.
Newsletter To Do List –
Membership Application – send to
Diane Reiter
Mary Alice Devine has written up a
description of Fonde Lacs event – email to confirm
We need a new picture for the front
page of the Newsletter
Ground breaking events for the YMCA
need to be put on the calendar of events
Highlight the quarterly event on the
front page of the newsletter
5.
Breakfast Meeting - has
been moved to Millers on Main. The Board of Directors wants our
functions to be held at current members.
6.
Website revamping – Mitch and Anna will
schedule a meeting with Chris to create a to-do list for the website
updates and a timeline for there completion.

8.
Legislative Corner –
Kathy is following up on the NOR information with the Builders
Association. They allowed us to print their article in our newsletter.
9.
Filing Taxes Update –
Mitch has been working with HRA Block in Lino Lakes and has learned that
because we are a civic non-profit organization we are not required to
file taxes going forward nor are we at fault for not filing taxes the
last few years.
10.
Potential New Members –
Chanticlear Pizza in Lino Lakes - invoice has been sent
Wells Fargo (Karen Wiley) – invoice has been sent
US Bank (Jason Anderson) – invoice has been sent and check was
received!
11.
To Do – A letter need to
be drafted to prior members and sent out with an invoice.
12.
Quad Area Chamber of
Commerce Banner – was found at the Bank of the West. It is now being
stored at the Community National Bank. In addition, we have a large
scissors for ribbon cutting ceremonies.
To do – Create a sign out sheet for the
sign so we know who has it at all times.
13.
The Statement of Income
and Expense has been approved. After a review it was decided that the
Business Spotlight will be cancelled with Press Publications.
14.
Blue Heron Days Golf
Tournament - the date to hold a golf tournament during Blue Heron Days
do not work out but there is the potential to hold it during another
time this summer.
15.
Quad Area Chamber of
commerce Budget – this needs to be created for the coming years. A
guideline for expenses and goals for new members.
16.
A motion was made to
charge $10 per person per event this insures that all events are
fundraisers.
17.
Blue Heron Contribution –
Leslie Welnetz made a motion to make a contribution of $1000 to the Blue
Heron Days Festival and Faamati Winey seconded that motion.
18.
Business Expo – A
discussion was held regarding the opportunity to hold a business expo
during Blue Heron Days. Further discussion is needed.
