Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

July 24, 2007 12:00 p.m.

Attending:                Mitch Rheine, Mary Alice Divine, Kathy Kouba, Mady Reiter, Faamati Winey, LaChelle Williams

Chamber Admin:     Anna Wicks

·         The President, Mitch Rehbine – called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.

·         May 22, 2007 Meeting Minutes Reviewed – Kathy Kouba makes a motion to approve, Faamati Winey seconds that motion, and the minutes are unanimously approved.

·         June 28, 2007 Meeting Minutes Reviewed – Mary Alice Divine makes a motion to approve, Mitch Rheine seconds that motion, and the minutes are unanimously approved. 

·         May 22, 2007 and June 28, 2007 Treasurers Reports Reviewed – Mitch Rheine motions to accept the reports, Kathy Kouba seconds, the reports are unanimously approved.

·         Cash Reserves – A motion was made by Mady Reiter for not less then 6 months of cash reserve in the account with the ultimate goal of 1 year of reserves, Faamati Winey seconded that motion, the motion was unanimously passed.

·         Current Officers – The Board of Directors are looking for volunteers to step forward who are interested in becoming Officers of the Board in October. A note will be put in the September Newsletter.

·         Annual Meeting – to be held in October at the SMW Credit Union Conference Room (date yet to be determined). Faamati will stop by the Citizen and ask the Great Loudini to be at the annual meeting.

·         Brochure – At the September meeting a review of the current brochure and brain storming session for revamping it will be held.

·         Newsletter September/October 2007 – A review of the July Issue was done and a mark up of job assignments for the September Issue was completed.

·         City of Lexington – A discussion was held regarding the need to get the City of Lexington more involved with our Chamber. Mady Reiter will invite Mayor Valenta to a one on one meeting.

·         Membership Welcome Packets – A motion to approve the packets with noted changes was made by Mady Reiter, LaChelle Williams seconded that motion and the packets were unanimously approved.

·         Blue Heron Candidate – A motion to sponsor a Blue Heron Candidate was made by Mady Reiter, Kathy Kouba seconded that motion, and the motion was unanimously passed.

·         Quarterly Event August 9^, 2007- To be held at LaMotte Park at the shelter on the right hand side. Mitch will drive a pontoon boat, Faamati will pick up food from Sam’s Club, Mady will bring polish horse shoes and LaChelle bocce ball, Anna will send out an email flyer and do follow-up calling.
