Minutes

Financial:  Carol Mahnke has left her position at Community National Bank. It was moved and seconded to have Roxanne Kapping take over as temporary treasurer until elections this fall.  Motion carried.

Communication/Advertising:

It was moved and seconded to purchase window stickers for Chamber businesses to display. Because they must be ordered in quantity, no year will be put on them. Mitch will determine if it is more cost effective to order 500 or 1000. It will have the Quad logo, and say “Chamber member.” It will say “The Voice of Business.” Motion carried.

Socials/Charitable:

  • Blue Heron Days:  Mady will pass out Chamber flyers on Saturday. Brian Wentz is getting them printed.
  • Because the golf tournament was canceled, it was moved and seconded to put the Spare Key foursome who had already purchased a spot into the Sandburr Days golf tournament. Motion carried.
  • There was discussion about a Candidates Forum on October 13 at 6:30 p.m. This could include city and school district candidates. It could take place at city hall, or potentially at the VFW or Trappers, preferably a site that has no cost. Mary Divine will call the VFW about getting a room. Mady will contact cities to see who has elections this year. The Quad Press could be asked to co-sponsor and be the entity that asks the questions.

Membership: Jason will get the renewal list from Jeannie. Mady will canvass those who

are up for renewal.

Newsletter:   Next newsletter deadline is September 1 for the October newsletter. Mady offered to do a column on the legislative session and small business.

Other:            Directors discussed the need for an administrative person to take on more responsibilities. Mitch Rehbine said he would consider it, but it couldn’t be while he was on the board.

Next meeting: 8AM on Sept. 13 at Lino Lakes City Hall.
