Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

August 28, 2007 12:00 p.m.

 

Attending:                Mitch Rheine, Mary Alice Divine, Mady Reiter, Jim Dugelman

Items in Red are TO DO items which will be assigned to a Board Member noted next to the item.

 

Items in Purple are items from previous meetings still needing to be completed.

 

·         The President, Mitch Rehbine – called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m.

 

·         Meeting Minutes – Mady Reiter asks to have the meeting minutes sent out with a week of the meeting. (Anna Wicks)

 

·         Current Member List – the Board would like to have another current member list sent out. (Anna Wicks)

 

·         Annual Meeting – an email needs to be sent out to the Board of Directors asking them to check their schedules for availability on October 4th or October 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Anna Wicks)

 

·         July, 2007 Meeting Minutes Reviewed – Mary Alice Divine makes a motion to approve, Jim Dugelman seconds that motion, and the minutes are unanimously approved.  

 

·         July, 2007 Treasurers Reports Reviewed – Mary Alice Divine motions to accept the report, Mady Reiter seconds, and the report is unanimously approved.

 

·         It is determined that we should invite all four Mayors of the Quad Cities to the Annual Meeting. Mady Reiter will send a letter to the Council Members inviting them to the annual meeting. She will also share a copy of a letter she has written with Mitch Rehbine to use when inviting the Mayors to the meeting. (Mady Reiter)

 

·         Annual Meeting – A discussion is had to determine if there should be a charge to attend this event. It is determined that at this time we will not charge but it is a possibility in the future.

 

 

 

·         2006/2007 Goals – A review of the goals set in the fall of 2006 was done. We had hoped to have 50 new members, hold a social event every quarter, and start the Ambassadors Club. At the September meeting we will list our goals for the coming year. Some preliminary ideas were to host a Business Symposium/Business Expo and a Golf Outing. Mitch tells us that Forest Lake holds a Business event every year that is a large money maker for them.

 

·         Administrative Contract – Mitch has asked that a contract be typed up (employment letter) outlining the agreement between the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce and Anna Wicks. A discussion will be held at the next meeting.  (Mitch Rehbine/Anna Wicks)

 

·         Welcome Packets – They are completed and a request has been made to send Mady Reiter 3 of them, Mitch Rehbine 1, Jim Dugelman 1 to keep on hand. (Anna Wicks)

 

·         Administrative Needs – In October we will need to revamp the brochure and possibly have some larger envelopes printed along with our letterhead and letter size envelopes. The Citizen may have the ability to help us with these projects. (Jim Dugelman)

 

·         MN Chamber of Commerce – Mady Reiter asks Anna Wicks to contact David Olson at the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce and find out if we are members. (Anna Wicks)

 

·         Quarterly Events – An idea is discussed, to invite the Mayor of each City to each one of our quarterly events and ask them to give a State of the City. 

 

·         City of Lexington – A discussion was held regarding the need to get the City of Lexington more involved with our Chamber. Mady Reiter will invite Mayor Valenta to a one on one meeting.

 

·         Quarterly Event August 9, 2007- Mitch and Faamati need to send their receipts for supplies purchased for this event for compensation.
