Quad Area Chamber of Commerce

Minutes

October 11, 2005

 Meeting called to order: 8:20 a.m. Because of lack of a board quorum, a general meeting was held. 

Attendance:  Mitch Rehbine, Jason Anderson, Mary Divine, Mady Reiter, Brad Sanford

Others Attending: LaChelle Williams

Minutes: No minutes were approved because there was not a quorum of the board.

Administrative Assistant: Chris Farinella is interested in the position. Jason will offer him the job. Mary offered to continue doing minutes.

Annual Meeting: The annual meeting is on Thursday, October 20 from 6-8 p.m. A deli bar will be offered. The VFW is donating the space. Jobs to do:

• Jason: Introduction and announce the chamber is seeking board members, events of past year.
• Jason: Get gift certificates from VFW and Millers for door prizes.
• Mady: Speak about recruitment of members
• Mady: Call members and former members, mention candidate forum also.
• Mary: Remind members of candidates forums
• Mary: bring name tags
• Mary: Do a projection of events, businesses etc. on the wall
• Mitch: Help with phone calls.
• Mitch: announce breakfast meetings
• Mitch: bring Chamber brochures
• LaChelle: donate YMCA punch card
• LaChelle: run the business card/money drawing thing

Members who have any chamber pictures will email them to Mary. All board members remember to wear new name tags. Bring Quad sign. Hang Quad banner at VFW. Bring interested guests.

Board Openings

There will be several board openings this year. LaChelle would like to be on the board.

Breakfast meetings

The Chamber’s first monthly breakfast meeting will be at CuppaJo’s in the Spirit Hills Shopping Center Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 a.m.

Candidate’s Forum

The Quad Press and Chamber are co-sponsoring a Lino Lakes Candidate’s Forum on Tuesday, 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. The Quad will act as moderator. Volunteers needed:

• Timekeeper: Jason Anderson
• Sorting committee: (screens audience questions) Jason will ask Peggy at US Bank and Ken DuFresne. Mary will call Roxanne Kapping.
• Usher: LaChelle will be ushering, picking up audience questions.
• Jason will send email to all chamber members notifying them of the forum.
• Mary will make up a flyer for city hall, police and fire station, banks and C-stores.
• Mary will pick up cookies, etc. Chamber will pay for it.

Next meeting: 8 AM on October 25 at Lino Lakes City Hall.
