Minutes

January 10, 2006

 

 Meeting called to order: 8:05 a.m.

 

Attendance:  Mitch Rehbine, Jason Anderson, Mary Divine, Faamati Winey, Chris Farinella, Leslie Welnetz, LaChelle Williams, Chad Wagner, Brad Sanford

 

Others Attending:

 

Minutes: Minutes of December 13, 2005 were approved.

   

Financial:  Mike Gallagher was unable to attend. The financial statement will be brought to the next meeting.

 

New Member Packets

  • Chris is waiting for map information.
  • Chris will make membership certificates.
  • Mitch said the window signs will be done next week. He is looking at the cost of glossy folders versus regular.
  • Jason and Chris will do a supply run this week.

 

Donations

  • LaChelle explained the YMCA community outreach campaign that is going out to 18,000 residents to raise the $800,000 needed for the Y. Groundbreaking is May 15.
  • There was discussion of donating Chamber funds to the YMCA. It will be discussed further at the next meeting.
  • It was moved and seconded to contribute $500 for Centennial Scholarship, as has been done in past years. Motion approved
  • It was moved and seconded to contribute $250 to the Lions Club for the annual ice fishing contest as done in past years. Motion approved.

 

Blue Heron Days Events 

  • Chad said they are looking into wrestling, with the Centennial Hockey Association, as a fundraiser for Blue Heron Days
  • Faamati is working on a craft show to take place at the Spirit Hills Shopping Center.
  • They will be advertising through the schools for Blue Heron royalty.
  • There will be a Chamber sponsored softball tournament with proceeds going to Blue Heron Days
  • The Lions are sponsoring a golf tournament.
  • Chris will contact Centennial schools about getting Quad Chamber banners made for the tournaments.
  • Mary will contact the cities of Hugo and Lexington to see who they use for their carnivals.

 

 

Membership:

  • Faamati will contact Mady Reiter regarding her offer to help call people for events.
  • The people who attended the annual meeting have not been contacted regarding membership. They will be sent packets when the packets are ready.

 

Meeting Adjourned, 9:20  a.m.

 

Next meeting:. The next meeting will be January 24. The agenda will include festival details, finance statement, banners and YMCA
